Considered one of the greatest Ducati motors ever built, the D16RR can be best characterized as a MotoGP bike reimagined for everyday street riding. It represents a mechanical evolution of the desmodromic motor, featuring all-gear-driven components, making it one of the most incredible-sounding machines ever made.
It features sand-cast aluminum crankcases and cylinder heads, a one-piece forged steel crankshaft, titanium intake and exhaust valves with a CrN (chromium nitride) coating, Brembo monoblock (one-piece) front brake calipers paired with 330mm rotors, matching the specifications used in rainy MotoGP races, along with a radial master cylinder and a remote adjuster located on the left handlebar. Additionally, it is equipped with an Öhlins 43mm FG353P pressurized fork with TiN-coated sliders.
Perhaps the only Achilles' heel of the D16 was the limited tire choices. Thankfully, this is a 'Full Kit' D16, featuring 17-inch BSTs, the original Marchesini forged and machined magnesium wheels, and yet another set of 16-inch BSTs – because, why not have it all?
