CELEBRATING THE NEW YEAR

Beginning 2023 with the most incredible and rare of them all - a 1974 750SS

Every 750 Super Sport is an event to be celebrated and an opportunity to own a rare piece of collectible history… we are thankful to have the opportunity to continue to set records for the number of these machines we have had pass through our hands.

We are excited to present - Frame# 075258 Engine# 075305 DM750.1

THE BIKE

#075305 was imported into Japan where it has remained until 2022.

This bike has been certified and authenticated by contributing editor and motorcycle historian Ian Falloon. Offered in the sale is a historical report by Mr. Falloon which will cover the entire history of this incredible machine.

This 750SS was personally rebuilt by Hideki Fujikami who for over 40 years has been one of the most important collectors in the worldwide Ducati community.

Pictured (left) is renowned designer and engineer, Fabio Taglioni, who carried Ducati into their modern-day legacy with his introduction of the V-twin engine.

Taglioni can be seen signing the side cover of the 750SS. This signature is still intact and present to this day.

ENGINE RESTORATION

This bike has gone through one of the most extensive motor restorations of any 750 Super Sport to date.

See below for a full image gallery from the restoration by master mechanic and restorer Hideki Fujikami of Collezione Giappone S.P.A.

This is an exceptionally sorted machine that has since been imported into the US and gleefully ridden throughout Los Angeles by Moto Borgotaro founder, Peter Boggia, for the past few months.

Pictured left is the original crank spec sheet (in Japanese) used in the engine rebuild.

WHAT IS IT LIKE RIDING this particular 750SS?

I have ridden many 750SS’s, each unique with its own slight nuance and personality. This example in particular deserves to be recognized as one of, if not the best, 750SS motors I have ever ridden.

After having gone through a masterful engine restoration by Collezione-Giaponne, the engine can only be described as precise, direct, and immensely powerful - in other words, perfect. The suspension was also upgraded internally with cartridge emulators providing an excellent feel for the Marzocchi forks. The brakes feel as though you are riding a modern bike and continue to get more precise with further use. Although many machines seem to end up in collections that put them to pasture, this example begs to be ridden.
