Motorcycle photo shoot with one of the rarest bikes in the world for Vogue Mexico.

Photo production: Tom Schirmacher Studio

On June 10, 2017, we assembled 20 original Italian sporting bikes from the 1970's under one roof (@ Moto Borgotaro) for a very special one-day show. Big thanks to Alpinestars for supporting the exhibition. Find full show coverage—including an interactive 360-degree bike viewer—at uniongaragenyc.com/journal. Bike photos by David Genat Illustration by Martin Squires Tech-Air and Pop-Up Shop by Alpinestars Video by Roberto Serrini Special thanks to all the bike owners: John Bloy, Gabriele Corcos, Adam Lindemann, Robert Machinist, Stuart Parr, Robert Pettinicchi.

We put on a one-day Italian Sporting Bike show in collaboration with Alpinestars and Moto Borgotaro. And now we’ve launched comprehensive (and interactive) show coverage chronicling the event.

This one-day motorcycle show was launched in conjunction with a fresh new Alpinestars pop-up shop. If you made it you would have found great complimentary food coming off the grill, icy Aperol Spritzes to take the edge off the June heat radiating off the street, and you’d of course have been able to see these beauties in the flesh.

Camera • Amanda Mitchell Moto Borgatoro Part documentary, part pulp action film, all love and pure passion: "Moto Borgatoro" follows curmudgeon/savant mechanic Peter Boggia and the birth of his custom 1979 Moto Guzzi Le Mans into creation. Mind you this film is not your normal bike build movie by design; no grinder sparks, no silhouette shots, no dramatic music. Been there seen that. This one is pure adrenaline, and hopefully tightens your pants like riding the bike would. The film has received praise from the limited amount of industry people given the opportunity to experience. Filmmaker and Moto-enthusist alike claim that it's got "Fellini roots with Tarantino fruits". We love praise that rhymes. Love bikes, hate bike, or know nothing about them, this film is juicy enough for anyone to quickly fall in love with Peter and his bad-ass machine. About the making of the film: Shot on a Arri SR 16mm film camera, BMCC, and two 5Ds. Edited and sound design in Premiere Pro CC with some light AE magic. EVENT

Apollonia & Laverda SF2 Press release

Rare that 2 complete custom bikes are completed at the same time, so why not though a party for 2 sexy Italian ladies with 50 of our closest friends!

FILM

To kick off the first season in business for Union Garage, and to celebrate the five-year mark for Moto Borgotaro, we decided to throw a little get-together. We ordered a couple hundred pounds of crawfish from Louisiana, cleared out the front of the workshop and brought in a dozen picnic tables. We invited our friends and customers to come down to Union Street for what turned out to be a beautiful early summer day, and a hell of a collection of motorcycles. The party was a perfect way to kick off the summer riding season. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. We're doing it again next year. Makes sure to follow us or sign up for the Union Garage email newsletter list so you don't miss out. Music: "Big Green and Yeller" by Seasick Steve. Shot & Edited by Seth Applebaum and Joshua Park

With so many great custom motorcycle shows happening around the country, spawning a builder-culture that is fast chopping and bobbing these old bikes out of existence, the spirit of the original designs sometimes get lost. To celebrate these old BMW’s in all their factory-correct originality we assembled a representative sampling of bone-stock bikes from 1970-1995. We hosted the bikes at a gathering next door at Moto Borogotaro, where attendees could walk down the line and take in the progression first hand. For anyone who couldn’t make it, we spun the bikes around on a lazy Susan and photographed them for posterity. Check out the website for a full interactive look (360-degree Pan-o-Vision!) at 18 bikes representing 11 major model-series -- all classic Airheads made by BMW from 1970-1995. http://uniongaragenyc.com/journal/events/25-years-of-bmw-an-airhead-retrospective/ 1970-1973: The BMW /5 1974-1976: The BMW /6 1974-1976: The BMW R90S 1977-1992: The BMW R100RS 1978-1995: The BMW R80RT and R100RT 1979-1987: The BMW R65 1983-1985: The BMW R65LS 1980–1986: The R80 G/S 1982-1984: The BMW R80ST 1987-1995: The R100GS 1992-1995: The BMW R100R
