Vol. 2 No. 4
September 21, 2022
Going into the fall, we are proud to present a few more unique machines here at Moto Borgotaro. And the web catalog continues to expand to a worldwide audience. Here we have offerings residing in Australia — a stunning original Ducati 750GT by contributing editor Ian Falloon — and the United Kingdom with a heart-pounding MAGNI MV. I am offered bikes almost daily to present to sell — but I prefer to keep the offerings interesting.
Our webshop is open for business with posters and T-shirts ready to ship. Grab a Ducati 750SS shirt painstakingly re-drawn from the 3-km Guggenheim 1974 Ducati 750SS we sold previously this year. Or grab a poster of the bike captured at her return to the Guggenheim museum.

IAN Falloon's DUCATI 750 GT
Historian Ian Falloon’s personal early 1972 Ducati 750 GT
One of the finest original early 750 GTs ever offered for sale. Rescued from hibernation 11 years ago by author and contributing editor Ian Falloon, this ‘72 GT is presented here with its original gel coat paint still intact. The GT (short for Grand Tourismo) was Ducati’s first foray into larger displacement bikes in the early ’70s. This marvelous survivor has its original case seal, early kick starter, and complete (as delivered) airbox with Amal carburetors.
The bike has been heavily featured in Mr. Falloon’s book “The 750 GT Bible” and includes a 20-page historical report with the sale. This is the “one” for any serious Ducati collection.

1978 MV AGUSTA MAGNI
OH, this sexy sexy bike. . . presented here from my friend over in the UK, Mr. Ian Smart — who, like myself, is a lover of MVs and Ducatis — we have an extremely sorted Magni 860 America.
How sorted? Take a look at the video, it kind of says it all. Any MV owner knows that some “sorting” is required for all MVs and this example was personally assembled by the great Giovanni Magni over a period of years, and has been ridden and cared for in the highest regard by Mr. Smart.
During the refreshing that has happened over the years, Mr. Smart was wise to keep the original paint and patina of the bike intact, as such we have a fully sorted turn-key updated MAGNI with provenance and receipts, and of course, with all the right looks.

1995 BMW R100GS PD (SOLD)
60,000 views and some fierce bidding helped bring a record sale on BAT to a close on August 27th.
The story was picked up on Silodrome, ADV rider, and a very nice interview with our friends at Bike Bound blog.
The next bike we have going to BAT will be a 1985 R80GSPD, the first true 1 of 200 examples offered for sale on the platform, and should have a similar thrilling result.

1985 BMW R80 GSPD
One of the earliest true Paris Dakar bikes ever offered for sale, built in July of 1984 and delivered to Arnold Fischer Motorrad-Fachgeschaft, Germany. This amazing GSPD comes with a certificate of build from BMW Motorrad. Undeniably one of the most important machines ever built. Delivered with a period rain suit, helmet, and gloves.
Hopefully, this will answer some of the questions regarding an original factory-stamped GSPD and a “kit” PD. In the every least we should see many many comments…
Stay tuned.
